Mercedes-Benz has been one of the main sponsors of Fashion Week by Berns since 2008. Ahead of this summer’s fashion week, Mercedes-Benz is taking on the role of title sponsor and thereby steering Stockholm’s fashion week closer towards becoming one of the most prestigious international fashion weeks. Interest in attending has grown yet again since last season, and the upcoming week is expected to present a record number of participants when Sweden’s most prominent fashion labels showcase their spring and summer collections for 2011.

The next Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will take place August 16-18, 2010.

Since its inception in 2005, the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week catwalk has grown its slate to support nearly forty Scandinavian design houses twice annually, with the primary focus being to attract the international fashion community of press and buyers to Swedish and Scandinavian design.

“Fashion Week features the most prominent Swedish designer shows, industry seminars, and special events. It all takes place under one roof – inside our 145-year-old entertainment complex, Berns Salonger. Therefore, Berns catwalk has grown into one of the most significant platforms for the future of Swedish design houses”, says Yvonne Sörensen Björud, CEO Berns Salonger and Chair of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Advisory Board.
