Drunk Elephant Kamo Cover Drops just gave the cult skincare brand its biggest category expansion yet. The brand finally made the leap into complexion.

Drunk Elephant expanded into a new category with Kamo Triple-Peptide Cover Drops, the brand’s first-ever complexion product. The launch blends peptide-driven skincare benefits with lightweight, customizable coverage.

This launch matters because Drunk Elephant built its entire reputation on skincare, not makeup. Furthermore, the brand waited years before making this specific move, which signals real confidence in the formula.

What Is Drunk Elephant’s Kamo Cover Drops?

Kamo combines 18% amino-acid-coated pigments with a 4% peptide complex, delivering up to 12 hours of coverage that’s resistant to creasing, sweat and humidity. The formula comes in 25 shades spanning fair to rich, suited to cool, warm and neutral undertones. Marula oil, green tea seed oil and squalane round out the ingredient list, adding moisture and antioxidant support alongside the coverage itself.

Drunk Elephant complexion product design leans heavily on versatility. Wear it solo as a lightweight foundation, dab it on as a concealer, or mix it into a favorite moisturizer or serum for a fully customized tint. Nathan Rivas, the brand’s vice president of global research and product development, said Kamo underwent clinical testing to ensure it wouldn’t separate when blended with other products. “No brand has ever used amino acids at this level in a complexion product,” he explained.

Why Is This a First for the Brand?

Kamo Triple-Peptide Drops joins Drunk Elephant’s existing Clinical Color lineup, which already includes D-Bronzi bronzing drops, O-Bloos blush drops and B-Goldi highlighting drops. Founder Tiffany Masterson had the idea for a complexion product back in 2019, but she waited until the formula met her standards. “I didn’t want to do it until I knew we could do a truly innovative formula in our uniquely Drunk Elephant way,” she said.

Masterson’s own relationship with foundation shaped the product’s development. “When I launched Drunk Elephant, I was around 42 and had never worn foundation,” she said, explaining that her mother discouraged her from wearing makeup growing up. That history pushed her to focus on skincare first, and it’s part of why Drunk Elephant new launch 2026 messaging leans so heavily on treatment benefits alongside coverage.

How Does It Fit 2026’s Skincare-Makeup Hybrid Trend?

Kamo retails for $42 and launched August 11, continuing a broader industry shift toward products that blur the line between skincare and makeup entirely. Skincare makeup hybrid 2026 launches have picked up serious momentum this year, with brands increasingly building coverage products around active ingredients rather than pure pigment.

Drunk Elephant also introduced a Clinical Color Collective to mark the launch, uniting four artists — Mali Boykin, Kelsey Deenihan, James Molloy and Kasey Spickard — who span celebrity red-carpet beauty, backstage fashion and editorial artistry. Tinted skincare drops like Kamo reflect a growing consumer appetite for multitasking products that simplify routines without sacrificing skincare benefits. Peptide complexion product formulas specifically continue gaining traction as shoppers look for coverage that actively improves skin over time rather than just concealing it. Runway will track how Kamo performs against established complexion products as the launch continues to roll out.
