What do you like best about your work?
I am so very thankful to be someone who gets to define “work” synonymously with “what I love.” What I like best is digging in deep. I have a love and appreciation for human emotion and relationships—how they work, how they don’t, why we do what we do. Through storytelling, we can open someone’s eyes to create compassion or understanding. It’s satisfying to explore different parts of yourself to make a new character come alive. When I get a script, I get to find and explore all the reasons a character may act one way or another. It’s like I get to live many lives.

What is your most memorable experience in show business?
The experience that comes to mind was very early on and very personal. When I first moved to LA after graduating from Middlebury, I was standing in my room at dusk looking out the window after signing with my first agent. It wasn’t about the agent or a job—it was the realization that I was really doing this. I had made a promise to follow this dream, no matter what. The next was my first opening night of an off-Broadway production. There’s no rush like that.

What is your favorite thing in your closet?
Clothes come and go, but in the corner of my closet is a box holding a red-haired wig I bought on the street in New York City. I wore it in a production of David’s Redhaired Death by Sherry Kramer. It was my senior thesis in college. It’s an incredible two-woman play about love, loss, and fear. We both wore wigs for the production. I keep it as a reminder of something I created with people I adore.

Who is your favorite designer?
I tend to pick and choose clothes I love from all over, but Morgan Le Fay is a designer I really admire. Her dresses fit like they were made for you. They can be simple and elegant or fun and funky, but there’s always an unassuming elegance to her pieces. They just feel perfect.

Who are your influences?
My family plays an enormous role in my life. My parents are my greatest supporters and teachers, and my two older brothers—both actors—have inspired me since I was born. I try to be influenced by all types of stimulus because there’s something to learn from everyone.

Actors who inspire me include Laura Linney, Emma Thompson, and Juliette Binoche—there’s something effortlessly natural in their work. I also recently heard Terrence Howard on NPR, and he completely blew me away.

Where did you learn to act?
The easy answer is: life. We never stop learning how to act. Life experience is the most important training. I’ve also watched my brothers perform since I was young. Academically, I studied at Middlebury College, The Actors Center, and PlayhouseWest. PlayhouseWest was a turning point—it made everything feel real, honest, and relevant. Finding teachers and a group you trust enough to truly explore your craft is a gift.

What do you do for fun?
I love everything connected to music—listening, playing, and dancing. My brother Clark and I are in a band with our friend Andy Mitton called The Real D’Coy. We don’t play as often as we’d like, but music is healing.

I also love traveling, especially with friends I don’t see often, because it opens the door to new languages and cultures. I spend time with my dog Shasta and enjoy exploring the nature around Vancouver while filming Smallville. Cooking is another passion—especially soups. And when I’m home, I love playing board games like Rummikub with my family.

So, what are you working on right now?

I’m modeling, hosting Pretty Wicked on Oxygen, and working actively as a global ambassador for psoriasis awareness. I also spend a lot of time volunteering with charities that support abused and abandoned animals. Beyond that, I’m doing fashion shows and taking the first steps toward launching my own sunglasses line.

What is your favorite thing in your closet?

My closet is basically dedicated to shoes. But my favorite piece is definitely my black leather Dolce jacket. I’m honestly so bummed it’s getting too warm to wear it. I’ve joked about traveling to Antarctica just so I could keep wearing it because I love it that much.

Who is your favorite designer?

Michele Bohbot is a good friend of mine, and of course I love Chanel because it’s timeless and always classic. I’m also obsessed with vintage fashion.

Who are your influences?

The streets of New York City inspire me constantly. I also admire Tyra Banks tremendously. And honestly, single parents inspire me because they’re doing one of the hardest jobs in the world every single day.

Where did you learn to model?

Mostly through bathroom mirrors and by playing dress-up in my mother’s old clothes. That was basically my first runway.

What do you do for fun?

I love listening to music. Honestly, my career is more fun than any other job I could imagine. I love the beach, hanging out with my closest friends — who are mostly guys — and playing music. I own two guitars and I also play the drums.

What has been your most memorable experience in show business?

Getting selected as one of the Top 13 contestants in the America’s Next Top Model house changed everything for me. Winning the competition was surreal. I also loved appearing on Live with Regis and Kelly and making Regis Philbin blush. Another unforgettable moment was going on Mike and Juliet and joking that I wished Cindy Crawford would sexually harass me.

What can you tell Runway that the rest of the world doesn’t know?

Sometimes, in the middle of my sleep, I still suck my thumb.

What are your plans for the future?

Mogul. Mother. Money.

What is your favorite movie and why?

Anything Disney. It takes me back to a time when life felt innocent and the biggest worry was deciding who I was going to play with that day.

What fashion trend are you loving right now?

Old band T-shirts are completely my thing right now.

Where is your favorite place on Earth?

My mom’s and dad’s arms.

What’s the earliest call time you’ve ever had?

3 a.m. for hair and makeup before a sunrise shoot in Hawaii.

Definitely night.

What advice would you give aspiring talent?

You’re going to hear a thousand “no’s” before you hear a “yes.” But the moment you finally hear that yes, all those no’s disappear from your memory.

What’s next for you?

Pretty Wicked is still airing, and I’m getting ready to walk in New York Fashion Week again. This will be my third year participating, and I’m incredibly excited about it.

Below are the principles and techniques I strongly recommend to anyone considering a hair transformation.

Quality of Hair Matters

The type of hair used is crucial. My preference is 100% Russian and European Remy human hair, as it offers the most natural appearance and significantly reduces tangling compared to synthetic or lower-quality blended alternatives.

The brand itself is less important than the actual hair quality. Premium Remy hair ensures the cuticle remains intact and aligned, which is key for longevity and realism.

Application Methods

There are several professional methods of applying hair extensions. The best choice depends on hair texture, color, and the desired final result. Each method is customized for the individual client.

Strand-by-Strand Application
