Article Summary: Catching up with Ksenia Solo in a Runway Magazine interview discussing the actress's remarkable acting career, personal style, and the creative projects that continue to define her.

You can see Ksenia as Kenzi on the season three premiere of Lost Girl on SYFY tonight, Monday, January 14th at 10/9c.

RUNWAY: Congrats on the season 3 premiere of Lost Girl. Tell us how you landed the role of Kenzi.

Thank you so much. It’s an exciting season filled with a lot of unexpected surprises so I really look forward to the fans finally seeing it after such a long wait! I landed the role of Kenzi through a good ol’ fashioned audition. I was in Los Angeles at the time, so I got a request to put my first audition on tape. I got a call back, then another one, and then the last step of the process involved me coming to Toronto and doing a ‘screen test’. Anna Silk was already cast as Bo, so she was present at my screen test. We had great chemistry…and the rest is history!

RUNWAY: How would you describe Kenzi’s style on Lost Girl?

Eclectic. Bold. Fun. She’s not afraid to be herself, which plays a huge role in her overall style choices. She can wear a great designer piece with something she stole off the street and somehow make it work, adding her own special touch to everything. She has an awesome collection of wigs which she uses when she goes ‘undercover’ to solve cases. Her years of living on the streets and having to survive through some pretty brutal circumstances, forced her to become a professional thief and therefore a true master of disguise.

RUNWAY: Do you have a favorite outfit you’ve worn on the set of LOST GIRL? Do you ever get to keep any of the clothes?

My favorite outfits are Kenzi’s ‘undercover’ get ups because usually the craziest outfits help me feel the most in character. I’m also a huge fan of Kenzi’s mile high boots, shoulder padded jackets and uniquely cool Heart Attack jeans, which are full of laces and zippers. I love wearing them in my own life as well.

RUNWAY: Tell us about your personal style?

I love feeling glamorous and sophisticated and I’m a big fan of one of a kind pieces. Kenzi and I definitely share a love of fashion and high heels. I always joke that I was born in a pair of heels. People on set often ask me how on earth I manage to run through mud, sand and ice in such high heels…and I have no idea! I just do.

RUNWAY: Fashion week is approaching in New York. Who would you say are some of your favorite fashion designers?

I have a lot. Fashion is a huge part of my life. But my absolute faves? Valentino, Marchesa, and Romona Keveza.

RUNWAY: From Black Swan to Life UneXpected and Lost Girl, your look always seems to change. What are your beauty and fashion must-haves whether you are blond, brunette, or raven-haired?

Well my must haves for fashion would have to be a great pair of jeans, a fantastic pair of high-heeled shoes, and a fitted leather jacket. Beauty? My favorite organic makeup by Niko, something I can’t live without… liquid black eye liner and a powerful hair straightener!
