History

Runway Magazine was founded in 1989 by Vincent Midnight in Hollywood, California, and has published continuously ever since — first in print, then across print and digital. The magazine’s documented internet presence begins with the registration of runway.net in 1996, followed by the dedicated editorial domain runwaylive.com in 2009. Nole Marin served as Editor-in-Chief from 2011; Julia Perry has led the editorial team since 2016.

Over three decades, Runway Magazine has produced original commissioned celebrity covers including Paris Hilton, Carmen Electra, Kelly Rowland, Shay Mitchell, Bella Thorne, Denise Richards, Vivica Fox, and Ming Lee Simmons, whose Spring 2026 cover marks World Issue No. 63. Every cover is an original commissioned shoot — not publicity or press-kit imagery.
