Aryna Sabalenka has been playing the US Open in 127.14 carats of coloured gemstones. The world No. 1 paired the suite with a sheer orange Nike kit. Sabalenka US Open jewelry has become the quietest luxury story of the tournament, and the New York jeweller Material Good built the whole thing to order.

Aryna Sabalenka wore a custom Material Good suite at the 2026 US Open totalling 127.14 carats of coloured gemstones. The set includes an 83.2-carat necklace, a 28.36-carat bracelet and 15.58-carat drop earrings, all in 18-karat yellow gold. WWD reported the suite’s value at more than $400,000.

What Jewelry Does Aryna Sabalenka Wear on Court?

Material Good calls the set the Silhouette Suite. It has three pieces, and she wears all of them while she plays.

The necklace carries the weight. Handcrafted in 18-karat yellow gold, it holds 83.2 carats of sapphire, tourmaline, garnet, zircon, spinel, chrysoberyl and tanzanite. The bracelet then adds 28.36 carats in the same metal, with tsavorite included alongside the rest. Finally, the drop jacket stud earrings contribute 15.58 carats of sapphire, spinel, tourmaline and garnet.

Notably, there are no diamonds anywhere in the suite. Instead, the brand used a spread of coloured stones cut in varied shapes, which keeps the whole thing lively rather than uniform.

Sabalenka wore it with a sheer mesh Nike dress with contrasting white seams. Underneath, she layered a bright orange sports bra and matching shorts. The mesh reads as deliberately Y2K, and the orange pulls every eye straight to the stones.

The Design Brief

Material Good drew the concept from New York itself. The brand described taking cues from the city’s colour and energy, and from what it called the grit and edge that define the place.

The gemstones come from origins worldwide. That sourcing, according to the jeweller, mirrors New York’s multicultural character directly.

The number invites its own reading. The women’s singles draw holds 128 players, so 127.14 carats sits one short of the field. Whether that was intentional, the brand has not said.

Who Is Material Good, the Brand Behind the Sabalenka US Open Jewelry?

Material Good is a luxury jeweller based in New York, which is also the tournament’s home city. The partnership with Sabalenka did not begin here, however.

She wore the brand at the French Open in May. That suite ran to more than 125 carats of garnets, and the colour deliberately echoed the red clay at Roland-Garros. Then she wore Material Good again at Wimbledon.

A pattern has therefore emerged across the season. Each suite gets built around the tournament rather than reused, and the stones respond to the surface, the city or both. Consequently, the jewellery functions as commentary on where she is playing.

Sabalenka has also worked with high jewellery outside tennis. In January, she appeared on Tatler’s double cover across six Asian editions wearing natural diamond pieces from Claudia Ma, Carnet and Hearts On Fire.

Can Tennis Players Wear Jewelry During a Match?

Yes. Neither the WTA nor the Grand Slam rulebooks ban jewellery, so players decide for themselves.

Most keep it minimal for practical reasons. A necklace moves on a serve, and earrings catch sweat and hair. Historically, therefore, on-court jewellery has meant a small chain or studs rather than a full suite.

Sabalenka has pushed against that convention all season. Rather than removing pieces for play, she wears the complete set through matches, which is unusual at this level and at this value.

The commercial logic is obvious. A gown appears once on a red carpet, whereas a tennis suite appears on broadcast for hours across two weeks. As a result, the exposure economics favour sport heavily.

Why This Matters Beyond Tennis

Luxury houses have been moving into sport steadily. Sponsorship gives them sustained visibility that fashion weeks cannot match, and it reaches audiences who do not follow collections.

Sabalenka is a strong vehicle for that. She holds the world No. 1 ranking, and she has won four Grand Slam singles titles including the US Open in 2024 and 2025. She also sits second all-time in career prize money.

The 2026 US Open runs through Sept. 13 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
