Runway Magazine Runway show picks fall 2009.

Jason Wu

This time last year the name Jason Wu would have likely been followed with the question, “Jason who?” But this designer is seemingly back for the first time, as Wu created his first full collection in 2006, but is now a fashion darling since designing the inaugural gown for First Lady Michelle Obama. Embroidered sleeves and jet beading at the hems demonstrate his extreme attention to detail. No piece mimics another, yet Wu makes the collection cohesive with electric blue and sunny yellow appearing more than once. Celebrities Spotted: Anna Wintour, Chanel Iman, Jay Alexander, Olivia Palermo

Tracy Reese

Known for her glamorous everyday look for the sensible woman, Tracy Reese adds touches of sass and class to practicality. Women who are ready to show those sexy legs make no apologies wearing this designer’s collection as many of the flirty dresses are above knee length. This label flaunts knee-high socks and the knit cap, finishing the perfect fall look that’s suitable for any day. Colors such as saffron, mauve and rose are copious finds on these fabrics. Celebrities Spotted: Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian and boyfriend Reggie Bush, Veronica Webb, Alexie Gilmore Diane Von Furstenburg DVF proves that luxurious comfort has become reality. Wrap dresses and tunic-miniskirt combos were coupled with either slouchy cardigans or cocoon coats. Leopard and tapestry prints make special appearances in this collection for a little versatility. Celebrities Spotted: Diana Ross, Diane Sawyer, Rachel Zoe, Tim Gunn

Donna Karan

Donna Karan isn’t afraid to bring the midnight feel to this collection with its dark hues and deepened tones. Black, grey and rich browns take over the color scheme. Soft, feminine silhouettes coif delicate figures with belts at the waist. A caramel calfskin trench jacket and a white poplin button-down shirt stand out among the rest of the pieces. Celebrities Spotted: Rachel Zoe, Molly Sims, Milla Jovovich

Michael Kors Neon colors found here help to create neon classics for Michael Kors. Lime green, hot pink and caution orange splash onto the runway with this collection. Black remains an abundant tint here. Seek and you will find an assortment of jackets, including short-sleeve, squared-off and cutout shoulders. A one-shoulder matte sequin dress makes its way onto the MK scene. Celebrities Spotted: Heidi Klum, Joy Bryant, Jane Krakowski Nicole Miller A woman who wants her style to match her sophisticated beauty will readily wear the fall collection. Nicole Miller uses simple geometric lines and shapes to create dynamic patterns in many of the pieces. So often found in many of her designs, the colors in this palate are subdued, dark and chic. Celebrities Spotted: Katrina Bowden, Candace Bushnell, Kristy Yamaguchi, Solange Knowles

Carolina Herrera

The theme of Herrera’s collection seems to take eveningwear to a higher level. Gowns materialize in deep forest green, metallic bronze and silver, and a variety of rouges. Corset and off-the-shoulder evening dresses did not drown out the voices of other fashion statements on the catwalk. The noontime refinement of a narrow pantsuit and a long sleeved day dress break up the ornate feel. Celebrities Spotted: Rachel Zoe, Jessica Stroup, Nina Garcia, Christian Sirano, Farah Angsana
