Our fall cover girl isn’t your average 19-year-old. Refreshingly self-aware with striking looks that could easily link her to Gina Gershon and a penchant for playing ‘the strong, smart chick’, Allison Scagliotti is the girl you want to tune in and watch every week. She’s also got an iPod playlist spanning back to 1930s jazz, gum and hand sanitizer topping her list of must-haves and a Lab-Pitt rescue dog she refers to as ‘the love of her life’. In short, she’s the girl you want to befriend.
Born in Monterey, Calif., Allison moved to Louisiana with her family before the age of five. Planning to end up in New York and pursue musical theatre, it was a chance meeting with an acting coach at age 11 that pushed her toward film and television. After seven years in New Orleans, Allison and her mom picked up and moved to Los Angeles. Three pilots and almost two years later, she landed the role of Mindy on Nickelodeon’s Drake & Josh.
Today, Allison plays witty tech-genius Claudia Donovan, a fan favorite on Syfy’s Warehouse 13. Next she’ll be seen in Losers Take All, a film about a punk band’s almost-rise to fame, circa 1986, from the director of Prey for Rock & Roll.
Who would she like to star opposite? Robin Williams, Catherine Keener and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Hands down. No hesitation.
Who are her favorite fashion designers? She casually laughs and says, “Ya know, I’m still learning.” This kind of divulgence makes it impossible to not like her.
Allison holds a fondness for Chuck Taylors and wife-beaters but a black Alexander Wang dress she wore down the Comic-Con carpet has since become her favorite. Almost culminating her teenage years, she speaks frankly about her feelings toward smart roles, Joan Jett and the future…
